The Foundation was created in the late 1980s with the aim of preserving, disseminating, classifying and registering the work of Francisco Zúñiga, as well as preparing a Catalog Raisonné of his oil painting, woodcuts, drawings, sculptures, lithographs and other prints (offset reproductions), works made between 1923 and 1993.
Between 1999 and 2006, four volumes of the work recorded up to that time were published. Thanks to the collaboration of collectors, museums, galleries and auction houses around the world, it was possible to continue registering works that had not been registered or had been wrongly registered from the beginning. At the present time, an online catalog raisonné is produced to facilitate dissemination and keep research on the work alive.
For an account of how the Raisonné Catalog is structured and for the guide of the different particular fields and their database, see the User’s Guide. The online version of the Catalog Raisonné is a work in progress that will continue to be corrected and to which works that have not been previously registered will be added. Unlike the published printed volumes, in this version the Public works and the unrealized projects of the same, would be found in a separate section.
In accordance with the sculptor’s original instructions, plasters not cast previously will not be cast, except those few which were previously planned to be. In the case of drawings, when a collector was interested in acquiring an unsigned and/or dated drawing, a stamp from Fundación Zúñiga Laborde A.C. was added. (Mexico).
This catalog only includes works authored by Francisco Zúñiga (1912-1998).
